THE DESCRIPTION of new taxa in a "Handbook of Hawaiian Fishes" recently submitted for publi cation was considered inadvisable . Certain of these are grouped together here, i. e., three new species of Gobiidae (Quisquilias aureoviridis, Q. limbatosquamis, and Hazeus ttnisquamis), a new genus and species of Callionymidae (Pogonymtts pogognathus), and a new suborder of Perciformes (Schindlerioidei) erected for the fishes of the genus Schindleria.
